In the Community

With Kahkwa being in such a close-knit community like Erie, it is vital to us to make sure we do our part. Throughout the year, our Club and generous Membership gives back through a variety of different programming. We are happy and proud to be part of this community.

Evans Scholarship

The Evans Scholars Program “provides academic, professional and social resources that help students maintain a cumulative 3.3 GPA and 95 percent graduation rate. More than 11,050 young men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars since 1930.” The Kahkwa Club membership happily contributes to the foundation every summer. Over the years, Kahkwa has had several caddies graduate with the help of an Evans Scholarship.

Holiday Charity

Every holiday season, the Club chooses a local charity to support. Through monetary donations or gifts, our Members and staff work together to help these families in need so that they have a joyous holiday.

Caddie Program

The Kahkwa Club’s Caddie Program has been an important Club tradition for many years. The program is open to young men and women ages 14 and older. Caddying is a perfect summer job and is a great way to keep people active and interested in the game of golf. Our caddies attend an educational session before the season starts and are extremely helpful in assisting our golfers during their rounds throughout the season.

Blood Drive

For the past few years, The Kahkwa Club has worked with the Community Blood Bank to put on a Blood Drive at the Club. The Blood Drive is open to both Members and visitors. Each year, the Blood Drive is held in honor of one of our longtime Members who has passed.

Employee Christmas Bonus Fund

Our staff works extremely hard year-round, often on weekends and holidays to ensure our Members enjoy their time at the Club. To ensure they have a happy holiday season, our Members selflessly give to our Employee Christmas Bonus Fund.
